Ordell Minerals (ASX:ORD) has announced a series of promising assay results from its latest drilling campaign at the Barimaia Gold Project in Western Australia, reinforcing the potential for a large-scale shallow gold deposit. The company’s RC drilling at the McNabs East Prospect has confirmed near-surface mineralization, with several standout high-grade intercepts. Among the most notable results:
10m @ 4.24g/t Au from 44m
5m @ 4.77g/t Au from 45m
17m @ 2.25g/t Au from 86m
19m @ 1.60g/t Au from 25m
11m @ 1.40g/t Au from 10m
The drilling campaign, comprising 41 holes totaling 4,211 meters, has identified a continuous mineralized zone at shallow depths on the western side of McNabs East. The system remains open along strike and untested at depth, presenting an opportunity for expansion drilling.

Defining a New Gold System - More Drilling to Come April
Michael Fowler, Ordell’s Managing Director, highlighted the significance of the results: ““We are pleased to see strong zones of shallow gold mineralisation returned from the first batch of results from our 2025 exploration program, confirming Barimaia’s significant open pit potential. We look forward to receiving the pending results over the remainder of April."
Ordell’s ongoing drilling program aims to systematically test the 2.5km strike extent of gold mineralization at Barimaia. The latest results support the hypothesis of an east-northeast striking mineralized structure plunging shallowly to the east, consistent with the regional gold-bearing felsic intrusion model.
Following a successful heritage clearance program, Ordell is set to commence an air-core drilling campaign in mid-April. This initiative aims to extend the known mineralized footprint beyond the current 2.5km to over 5km along strike, further delineating the gold-hosting granodiorite intrusion. Additional RC and diamond drilling planned for the June quarter.
Regional Significance
The Barimaia Project is strategically located near Mount Magnet, a well-established gold mining district that hosts Ramelius Resources’ (ASX:RMS) Eridanus deposit. Eridanus, located just 6km northwest of Barimaia, has a Mineral Resource Estimate of 1.2 million ounces of gold.
The proximity to processing infrastructure, including Ramelius’ Mount Magnet mill and Spartan Resources’ Dalgaranga mill, adds to the project’s potential economic viability. As additional assay results from the March drilling campaign become available, Ordell is positioning itself to define a resource.
