Marmota Hits Bonanza-Grade Gold System at Greenewood

Marmota (ASX: MEU) confirms bonanza-grade gold at Greenewood with assays up to 109 g/t across a 900m zone, strengthening the scale and continuity of the system.

Marmota (ASX: MEU) has released final one-metre assay results from its maiden drill program at the Greenewood discovery in South Australia, confirming continuous high-grade gold along a 900-metre strike zone. Grades reached as high as 109 grams-per-tonne from near-surface positions, underscoring the scale and quality of the emerging system.

Greenewood sits within Marmota’s Gawler Craton portfolio and lies close to the company’s Aurora Tank deposit. The new results validate earlier four-metre composites and show consistency across multiple drill lines. For investors, the data highlights a shallow and extensive gold system capable of supporting low-cost development pathways if future studies support scale and metallurgy.

High-Grade Zones Strengthen Geological Model

The standout intercept came from hole 25GWRC046, which returned 33 metres at 10 grams-per-tonne from 22 metres downhole, including one-metre results of 95 and 109 grams-per-tonne. Hole 25GWRC099 delivered another key interval of 22 metres at 5.1 grams-per-tonne, with a one-metre assay at 94 grams-per-tonne.

These results are supported by 9 intercepts above 20 grams-per-tonne and 28 intercepts above 10 grams-per-tonne. Many occur between 17 and 31 metres from surface. This distribution suggests strong continuity of high-grade mineralisation across the deposit and aligns with cross-sections that show mineralisation open along strike.

Laboratory Re-Assays Required Due to Ultra-High Grades

Assay turnaround times lengthened as several samples exceeded the upper detection limits of standard fire-assay methods and required alternative gravimetric analysis. This indicates extremely high gold content in specific one-metre intervals and reinforces the interpretation of bonanza-grade shoots across the system. Bonanza grade is commonly defined as above 31 grams-per-tonne. Multiple Greenewood samples more than tripled that threshold.

Strategic Fit with the Gawler Craton Footprint

Greenewood is part of the Golden Moon Joint Venture, where Marmota holds 90% ownership. It lies near the Aurora Tank deposit, creating a cluster of potential development assets. Maps included in the announcement show Greenewood positioned within Marmota’s broader “arc of gold” trend, which hosts several underexplored structures. study covering the entire Gawler Gold Project is underway, with Stage 2 drilling at Greenewood already progressing ahead of schedule.

These results matter because they demonstrate a high-grade, shallow, and laterally extensive system, a combination that can significantly reduce future mining complexity. The presence of repeated thick mineralised intervals further enhances the potential scale of the deposit and supports continued drilling to expand the system.
