White Cliff Unveils One of World’s Top Copper Intercepts at Rae Project

White Cliff Minerals (WCN ASX) has reported what it calls one of the most significant copper drill intercepts globally in decades, hitting 175 metres at 2.5% copper from just 7.6 metres depth at its Rae Project in Nunavut, Canada (polar bear territory).

The standout hole, DAN25008, includes a high-grade core of 14 metres at 7.55% Cu and 25.8g/t silver from 138 metres, with the final 60 metres averaging 3.9% Cu. Notably, the hole ended in mineralisation with a last sample of 4.46% Cu and remains open at depth.

Shares in White Cliff surged on the ASX following the announcement, as the market digested the scale of the find in a world grappling with looming copper supply deficits.

“This result ranks among the top ten copper grade-metre intercepts reported globally in the last half-century,” the company said. “It strongly validates our geological model and drilling strategy.”

Open-Pit Potential and Strategic Location Boost Appeal

A second hole, DAN25001, returned 52 metres at 1.16% Cu from surface, including a 7.6-metre intercept at 3% Cu, further demonstrating mineralisation continuity near surface and bolstering the project’s open-pit mining potential.

The Rae Project, 100% owned by White Cliff, lies less than 80 kilometres from an open-water port, offering a potentially streamlined development path. The mineralisation at Danvers — the primary focus of drilling — remains open in all directions, and planning is underway for follow-up diamond drilling to test the system at depth and along a potential 7km strike.

Next Steps: Further Assays Imminent Resource Estimate

White Cliff will now incorporate the new data into a maiden JORC-compliant resource estimate. Five additional assay results from holes drilled along strike of DAN25008 are pending.

In a bullish outlook, the company noted the increasing grade toward the bottom of DAN25008 as especially encouraging, suggesting substantial upside at depth.

Amid constrained global copper supply, White Cliff’s discovery comes at a pivotal moment. If future results confirm scale and continuity, Rae could emerge as a globally significant copper development, potentially attracting strategic interest.

White Cliff trades on the ASX under the ticker WCN and is also listed on the OTCQB under WCMLF.
