ClearVue Technologies (ASX: CPV; OTCQX: CVUEF) has announced the successful prototyping and independent validation of its third-generation Solar Vision Glass. Independent testing by the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS) confirmed a 66% increase in energy generation compared with the company’s previous model.
The Gen3 glass now produces more than 50 watts per square metre, a significant leap for solar-integrated building materials. Processing time has also been halved, from about five minutes to two minutes per double-glazed unit, enabling faster, lower-cost production.
Streamlined Engineering and Sustainability
Engineering refinements have cut required components from 17 to just 7. This shift reduces silicon waste through more efficient cell cutting and eliminates aluminium usage, lowering embedded carbon. The new design allows greater customisation, offering single, double, or triple glazing, integration with LandVac Vacuum Glass, and options for coatings to meet architectural standards.
The technology reduces the payback period of ClearVue’s integrated façade system from 4.6 to 4.1 years without subsidies, and from 2.6 to 2.1 years under Hong Kong’s Feed-in Tariff program.
ClearVue Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Doug Hunt, said: “We are excited about the breakthroughs achieved by our ClearVue Gen3 Solar Vision Glass and the results of the SERIS testing demonstrating significant performance improvements.”
He added that trial manufacturing proved the glass can be produced at lower cost and faster speeds: “Independent validation from SERIS confirms that ClearVue Gen3 Solar Vision Glass offers higher energy generation. Trial manufacturing has proven faster and lower-cost production due to streamlined engineering.”
Hunt noted that full certification testing is expected to take six months beginning in Q4 2025. However, with project lead times of four to six months, the Gen3 product is already being incorporated into commercial proposals.
Commercialisation Outlook
The company believes the Gen3 breakthrough accelerates its path to large-scale commercialisation. ClearVue is now prepared to quote the new product for upcoming projects across commercial and residential markets.
The product is designed for seamless integration into standard framing systems and can meet stringent conditions, including typhoon ratings. ClearVue’s technology continues to position building façades as active contributors to energy efficiency in line with global decarbonisation goals.
